IBSS Celebrates Earth Day 2020

On this 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, IBSS joins the worldwide community in doing our part to drive transformative change for people and the planet. With our commitment to the environmental movement, IBSS has several initiatives and projects in place that impact our local communities and the world at large. As a team, we look to reduce our carbon footprint by encouraging employees in our headquarters office to reduce waste by taking advantage of in-house purified water and reusable water bottles as well as reusable plates and cutlery that are stocked in the office kitchen. We also provide recycling bins in the office. We have a Volunteer Committee that works to assist people and the environment. Previously, interns helped organize and coordinate stream clean up. Past and planned projects include park clean up, shell shaking, and providing food and other resources to our local community. Through our federal contracting division, we support the mission of several agencies that are dedicated to protecting people, property, and the environment through various contracts, including: ProTech Fisheries contractProTech Weather contractWorking with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)Working with the Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) ;Providing disaster relief for NOAA Fisheries We also work with the non-profit Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program (ACCSP), whose mission is to be a cooperative state-federal program to design, implement, and conduct marine fisheries statistics data collection programs and to integrate those data into a single data management system that will meet the needs of fishery managers, scientists, and fishermen. We are pleased to do our part to help the environment and strongly encourage other businesses and individuals to do their part to celebrate Earth Day.
