A message from Sonya Velasco, CEO
There is pain in our nation affecting all of us, arriving from a history of discrimination that has haunted our country. Recently, the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery and so many others over the centuries has sparked renewed demands for justice. These are trying times. IBSS recognizes the police brutality, injustice, and legacy of discrimination black people have faced that persists to this very day. We acknowledge the pain that this has caused and continues to cause black people and people of color.
We stand against white supremacy and stand with dismantling inherent systems of prejudice that are engrained in our culture. Each one of us can take the responsibility to take a step in the right direction. We call on ourselves and our neighbors to take individual steps to end racial injustice. ;
IBSS believes that participating in demonstrations this weekend is an effective way to come together as one voice to communicate that laws have not successfully protected black people.
We are committed to continuous dialogue to better understand, educate, and empower our employees to stand up and take action against embedded systemic discrimination, prejudices, and beliefs.
Let us stand together, and stand up for one another. Let us use this moment to accelerate our nation’s journey towards justice and a more perfect union and commit to being the change that will make our world a better place for every person.
