IBSS, a leading government contractor providing services for environmental science and engineering (including oceans, coasts, climate, weather, and satellite); cybersecurity and enterprise information technology; and professional management services; was awarded the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) Office of Observations (OBS) Surface Systems Programmatic, Administrative, and Engineering Support Services Task Order.
About NOAA NWS OBS
The Surface Observing Programs are an essential part of the mission support effort of the Department of Commerce NOAA/NWS, the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the Department of Defense, U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. The Surface and Upper Air Division (SUAD) Program Management Branch (W/OBS31) provides a wide range of programs that support these organizations through the acquisition and maintenance of information. Such information includes technical information packages, equipment maintenance notes, modification notes, as well as Engineering Management Reporting System (EMRS) input and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) program guidance. W/OBS31 also provides technical training, supply support, and equipment for testing and repair.
Under this contract, IBSS will apply the specified technical and administrative services to support all aspects of the Surface Program efforts that may include hardware, software and documentation maintenance, deployment, and tracking phases. Work includes management and technical support services for the overarching project, production management, systems engineering, administrative support, and reporting associated with Surface Observation Programs.
