September 20, 2020

Silver Spring, MD, June 2020:

IBSS was awarded a task order with NOAA Fisheries Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) to provide data services, analysis, and administration and management support to the Fisheries Monitoring and Research Division (FMRD).

NEFSC is part of NOAA Fisheries and is responsible for providing science in support of sustainable fisheries and seafood safety, maintaining healthy ecosystems, and conservation of habitats and protected species.

Team IBSS will deliver services that include the collection, processing, and management of fishery data including utilization of industry platforms to obtain data on fish biology, environmental variables, and socioeconomic factors in support of stock assessments and ecosystem-based fishery management. IBSS will support FMRD in the development of technology and data products for decision makers and improve data availability for the fishing industry, scientists, and managers. Team IBSS will be working to advance new technologies in trip reporting, observer reporting, and data management. This work also supports IBSS’s corporate strategic goal of providing “tech for science”.

As a trusted NOAA partner for more than 20 years, IBSS looks forward to continuing our ongoing service to NOAA Fisheries.
